Today, March 27, 2023, the Pastors of EAR Shyogwe Diocese (Shyogwe and Gitarama Archdeaconaries) started a two-day workshop on Prison Ministry facilitated by experts from England.

The main objective is to 
Indeed, Churches are uniquely equipped and called for prison ministry. This ministry may have many aspects: Visits (Mt 25:36); Evangelism (Procamation of the Word and Sacraments); Diaconia; Children Ministry; Training (Vocational Training; Peace and Reconciliation); Healing and Counceling; Reintegration into the society; Helping families of prisoners; Advocacy; take care of Sick Prisoners; etc. Thus, this training aims to show Pastors their role in these aspects of the Prison Ministry. That role may focus on: sharing God’s love; Share good News; Show there is hope (God’s forgiviness); to be attentive leasner; stimulate reconciliation; have a prophetic message (to be a prophet in a prison situation); etc.
